On the absolutely beautiful Sunday afternoon of August 24, Les Dames were hosted by Dame Rachel Clayton, Executive Chef at the Myopia Hunt Club, for a championship polo match and a feast fit for a champion! The table decorated with elegant white linen and silver candelabras beckoned us to the elite mid-field location where over 20 Dames and their guests sipped champagne and dined on polo fare including smoked salmon canapés and a lovely presentation of cheeses and perfectly ripened fruit including luscious champagne grapes! Rachel’s "polo" version of egg salad, delicately seasoned lobster salad, and tenderloin sandwiches were grand! After stomping down the divots on the field at half-time, she rewarded us with chocolate covered strawberries and the most wonderful shortbread pecan cookies for dessert!
The Dames would like to thank Dame/Chef Rachel and her staff for all their work!
We hope to make this an annual event. Meanwhile, we will be seeing Rachel "Rock" our Annual Meeting at Costa Fruit & Produce which has been rescheduled to Monday, October 27. (see Rachel’s website at www.rockinthekitchen.com)
