    It felt like a foggy London night in the 1800s winding our way on cobblestones to Winter Place. But it was Boston 2015 on our way to a supper party at Yvonne’s at the invitation of Dame Judith Fabre McDonough. Dame Beth Berardi joined us for dinner.

    The newly, extravagantly renovated restaurant, originally Lock-Ober, was buzzing with activity; not a empty seat to be found.

    Judith presented cocktails and a four-course meal with her Mariposa wines as accompaniments.  

    • The first course consisted of Kale and Orzo Salad, Baked Oysters “Savannah”, and Charred Maitake Mushrooms. 
    • Second course:  Grilled Octopus, Broccoli Rabe, and Chicken & Quinoa Meatballs. 
    • Third course:  Crispy Tuna Fregola, Grilled Beef Matambre.
    • Fourth course:  Treats of Yo’s Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich, Drumsticks, Miniature Whoopie Pie.

    The dishes were incredibly prepared and absolutely delicious.

    Both Frank and I were duly impressed. All of this in a gorgeous setting for a mere $85. This party of eight had a wildly good time!
